Are you a victim of the Equifax data breach?

Your personal information could have been exposed  this summer during an Equifax data breach.  Equifax is one of the three main credit reporting agencies. Take precautions moving forward to protect yourself and your credit report. It is worth monitoring your credit report over the next month to make sure nothing odd appears.

The Federal Trade Commisson has provided a handy article explaining the facts and actions to take moving forward:

"Here are the facts, according to Equifax. The breach lasted from mid-May through July. The hackers accessed people’s names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses and, in some instances, driver’s license numbers. They also stole credit card numbers for about 209,000 people and dispute documents with personal identifying information for about 182,000 people"
